TidyByte is an independent, one-person development studio based in South Africa. I build practical apps that I use in my own daily life, focusing on simplicity, ease of use and privacy.
TidyByte is not my full-time business, which allows me to develop each app thoughtfully and without outside funding. Wherever possible, everything runs directly on your device — without accounts, unnecessary data collection or information passing through external servers.

Every memory, beautifully kept.
A private home for your life story — moments, photos, family history and the milestones worth keeping. Your story stays on your device and in your own iCloud, never on a server of mine.
HealthPort
Your Health data, on your terms.
Reads the health and fitness data already on your iPhone and writes it out as a clean, dated file you can actually use — to Files, iCloud Drive or your own Google Drive. 38 metrics, daily to monthly, JSON, CSV or GPX.
Rootine
Habits that bend, not break.
A habit tracker built around the days that do not go to plan. Effort levels instead of all-or-nothing, grace days instead of broken streaks, and planning that takes your mood into account.
SnapShotScan
A scanner for the things that are not documents — cards and IDs — using the camera and on-device Vision, with its own edge-detection model in training.

Every app here started as something I wanted and could not buy. HealthPort reads your Health data on your phone and hands you the file. This is My Life keeps your story where you put it. None of them needs anything from me to keep working.
It also means the person answering a support email is the person who wrote the code, which is the one genuine advantage a one-person studio has.
