What is Flipt?
Flipt is a PDF reader for iPad built around turning the page with one tap. Tap the bottom-right corner for the next page and the bottom-left corner for the previous page. It is made for anything that comes as a multi-page PDF: manuals, books, brochures, documents and sheet music.
How do I add a document?
In the Library, tap the plus button and choose one or more PDFs from Files. You can also send a PDF to Flipt from Mail or another app with the share button. Flipt keeps its own copy, so you can move or delete the original afterwards.
Does it work with a Bluetooth page-turner pedal?
Yes, with pedals and remotes that send standard arrow keys. Pair the pedal in the iPad’s Bluetooth settings, then open a document. Right arrow, down arrow, Page Down and space turn forward; left arrow, up arrow, Page Up and Shift-space turn back. If your pedal has several modes, choose the arrow-key mode.
Can I change the size of the page-turn corners?
Yes. In Settings, under Page-Turn Zones, choose Small, Medium or Large. One setting controls both corners. You can also hide the outlines; the corners still work.
How do I make the page larger or smaller?
Use the two A buttons in the top bar to change the size in 10% steps, from 70% to 300%, or pinch the page to any size. The number between the buttons shows the current size, and tapping it returns the page to 100%. Tap the page once to hide or show the top bar.
What does dark mode do to my pages?
The half-filled circle in the top bar switches between light and dark. In dark mode, pages invert: white paper becomes black and dark text becomes white, which is easier to read in dim light. Colours invert too, so a red heading looks pale blue and photographs look like negatives. You can turn this off in Settings, under Appearance.
Where are my documents stored?
On your iPad, in Flipt’s own storage. Flipt has no account and no server, and never uploads your documents. If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup for your iPad, Flipt’s documents are part of that backup, like any other app’s data.
What does Require Face ID do?
When it is on, Flipt asks for Face ID (or Touch ID, depending on your iPad) each time you open the app or return to it, and the app switcher shows a lock screen instead of your page. If Face ID fails, you can use your iPad passcode. Flipt never receives your face or fingerprint data; the iPad checks it and tells Flipt only yes or no.
How do Siri and Spotlight work with Flipt?
With Allow Siri & Spotlight on, you can search for a document by title from the Home Screen or Spotlight, and ask Siri to open it, for example “Open my manual in Flipt”. Only titles and page counts are shared, and only with search on your iPad. Turn the setting off and Flipt removes everything from search straight away.
Can Flipt open a password-protected PDF?
Not yet. A protected PDF is refused with a message when you try to import it. A damaged file that cannot be read as a PDF is refused in the same way.
A page looks soft for a moment after I turn it.
Large scanned pages take a moment to draw sharply. Flipt prepares the pages next to the one you are on, so waiting a second or two before turning gives the sharpest result.
How do I delete a document?
Press and hold it in the Library and choose Delete, or swipe the row to the left in list view. Flipt asks you to confirm. Only Flipt’s copy is removed; your original file is not touched. Deleting the Flipt app removes everything it stores.
Which iPads does it work on?
Flipt is for iPad and needs iPadOS 26 or later.
