Privacy & your data
Questions about the policy, or a request about your own data.
TidyByte is a one-person studio, so replies come from me, usually within a couple of days. Telling me your device, your iOS or Android version, and what you were doing when it went wrong saves a round trip.
Questions
Frequently asked.
Where is my story actually stored?
On your device. On iPhone and iPad it is also kept in your own iCloud, under your Apple Account, so it survives a new phone. On Android it stays local to the device unless you export it yourself. Either way it never passes through a server of mine — TidyByte does not operate one.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to forget. On iOS the app uses your existing Apple Account for iCloud storage, which is Apple’s sign-in, not mine.
How do I move my story to a new phone?
On iOS, sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive enabled and your story will be there. Between iOS and Android, or to keep a copy of your own, use the export in Settings and import the file on the other device.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes everything held on the device. On iOS, anything kept in iCloud is removed by deleting the app’s data from your iCloud settings, or by deleting the story inside the app first. If you would like written confirmation that nothing of yours remains, email privacy@tidy-byte.com — though the honest answer is that I hold nothing to begin with.
Is the Android app the same as the iOS one?
What does it cost?
A one-off purchase through the App Store, with no subscription and no advertising. Billing is handled entirely by Apple — I never see a card number.
